Short answer: Texas metro estimates for “roof repair” range from US$35.12 in Houston to US$54.41 in San Antonio, while “roofer near me” spans US$10.62 in Austin to US$19.31 in Dallas–Fort Worth (September 2025–August 2026 DMA data, source credit below). These are different keywords, not a universal roofing CPC range; the nearest measured CPL reference is US$228.15 for US roofing and gutter campaigns (LocaliQ, April 2024–March 2025), because no verified Texas metro CPL range was found. Build around real inspection capacity and lawful storm-damage messaging, not promises of a free insurance-funded roof.

San Antonio’s “roof repair near me” estimate is much higher than its “roofer near me” estimate. That is a reason to test the job intent and resulting inspections, not to assume the cheaper phrase will generate equally valuable work. Austin’s US$6.11 “roofer” figure is for that exact keyword and cannot stand in for every replacement, leak or hail search.

The October city medians and twelve-month exact-keyword estimates can differ substantially without either being an account forecast. Keep Dallas’s city label distinct from the DFW market. Compare the definitions before drawing a conclusion from the national roofer cost guide.

How should a roofing account respond to hail and storm season?

The NWS Dallas/Fort Worth climate narrative says thunderstorms and associated severe weather peak in spring, and describes large hail and damaging winds in the Metroplex. Use spring as a readiness window for DFW, not a claim that every Texas property has hail damage or that all four metros share identical storm timing.

Prepare a storm-response campaign before the event: a genuine roof-inspection offer, current inspection slots and a form that records the service address and the homeowner’s concern. Activate only after checking the affected area and safe site access. Houston wind and heavy-rain leak enquiries need different copy from a DFW hail inspection; Austin and San Antonio require their own observed-event and crew checks.

A weather report does not diagnose an individual roof. Avoid declaring that every house in a ZIP needs replacement, implying insurer endorsement or guaranteeing claim approval. When storms create a backlog, reduce coverage or display honest appointment windows instead of buying more calls than the estimators can return. The published CPC data average a year and do not quantify a post-hail auction surge.

Which ZIP clusters make roofing inspections more practical?

Roofing appointments can justify a wider territory than urgent service calls, but only if routes and crews support it. As a planning recommendation, test a 20–35 mile inspection territory around a real base, then prune it by actual travel and signed-job economics. These sample clusters are not storm-damage evidence or measured advertising results.

San AntonioStone Oak 78258/78260 or northwest 78249/78250Confirm local jurisdiction and contractor requirements at the property.

Target people present in the served area and verify the address on the form. Do not infer hail exposure, property ownership or insurance status solely from a ZIP. Use real service coverage and first-party enquiries, not harvested homeowner lists or unsolicited storm spam.

How do repair, replacement and insurance enquiries need different treatment?

  • Leak repair: ask whether water is entering now, the roof material and the property address. Only promise temporary protection when the team can safely provide it.
  • Retail replacement: capture roof type, property ownership and an assessment appointment. Show real project photographs only with permission and without fabricated performance claims.
  • Storm inspection: describe what the inspection covers. Separate the contractor’s repair estimate from any insurance coverage or settlement decision.
  • Commercial roofing: isolate it from household leads if crew capability, quoting and roof systems differ. Remove irrelevant employment, DIY and material-only searches.

A booked inspection is not a signed replacement. Record qualified enquiry, inspection attended, estimate delivered, contract signed and completed job value. Deduplicate repeat contacts across Search and LSA so one homeowner does not become multiple apparent wins.

What lead cost can a Texas roofer responsibly plan around?

LocaliQ’s home-services benchmarks (updated 15 July 2026) report US roofing and gutters medians of US$10.70 CPC, US$228.15 CPL and 3.70% conversion rate, for April 2024–March 2025. The overall study covers 3,211 US Search campaigns on Google and Microsoft. It is not a Texas-only sample, not Google-only local results and not an LSA roofing benchmark.

No verified metro roofing CPL interval was found in the checked publications. Set the affordable lead cost from gross profit after delivery costs, the share of qualified leads that sign and the margin you need to retain. Build separate targets for repair and replacement instead of letting expensive replacement enquiries hide an uneconomic repair campaign. Use your own completed jobs to revise that plan; neither a keyword estimate nor a national median guarantees a positive return.

What Texas roofing claims must stay out of the advertising?

Texas does not have a statewide TDLR roofing contractor licence. The Roofing Contractors Association of Texas describes its licensing programme as voluntary self-regulation, not a state-issued licence. Do not convert membership or a voluntary credential into a false claim of state licensing. Municipal rules still matter: San Antonio’s official contractor guidance distinguishes registration requirements for home improvement and residential building work. Confirm the project scope and jurisdiction before promising permit-ready work.

The Texas Department of Insurance roofing guidance (updated 24 March 2025) prohibits a contractor from acting or advertising as the public adjuster on property where it provides or may provide roofing services. It also prohibits offering to waive, rebate or absorb the policyholder’s deductible. Avoid “we negotiate your settlement” and “we cover your deductible”; an inspection and technical repair estimate are not the same as adjusting a claim. Seek legal advice for specific claims or contracts.

Where do Local Services Ads fit in a Texas roofing plan?

Google’s US Local Services Ads list includes roofers, subject to eligibility, area availability and screening. Compare qualified inspection enquiries, signed jobs and duplicate contacts across the two products rather than comparing an LSA lead charge with one Search click. There is no verified Texas roofing LSA CPL in the checked datasets. LSAs are not available in Australia or New Zealand.

Frequently asked questions

How much is a roof repair click in the main Texas metros?

The September 2025–August 2026 DMA estimates for “roof repair” are US$35.12 in Houston, US$48.80 in Dallas–Fort Worth, US$46.42 in Austin and US$54.41 in San Antonio. Those figures are keyword estimates rather than actual campaign invoices.

Does Austin’s US$6.11 roofer keyword mean cheap replacement leads?

No. US$6.11 describes the exact “roofer” keyword in the DMA study, while Austin’s “roof repair” estimate is US$46.42. The jobs generated, conversion rate and signed-job value must be measured before deciding which traffic is economical.

Is there a Texas-only published roofing CPL range?

No verified Texas metro CPL range was found in the sources checked. LocaliQ’s US roofing and gutters median is US$228.15 for April 2024–March 2025; it is national campaign context, not a local quote or guarantee.

When should a DFW roofer prepare hail campaigns?

Prepare inspection capacity and compliant landing pages before spring, when the NWS says severe-weather frequency peaks in DFW. Launch or widen event-specific ads only after checking actual affected areas, safe access and available appointments.

Can a Texas roofing ad offer to pay the homeowner’s deductible?

No. Texas Department of Insurance guidance says contractors must not offer to waive, rebate or absorb a property insurance deductible. Do not turn an inspection promotion into an offer to avoid the policyholder’s payment obligation.

Does Texas issue a statewide roofing contractor licence?

TDLR does not administer a statewide roofing contractor licence. The roofing association’s licensing programme is voluntary, and local registration or permit requirements may still apply. Describe the business’s actual status without implying a state endorsement.

Can Texas roofers use Local Services Ads?

Yes, eligible US roofing businesses can apply subject to Google’s screening and service-area availability. Check the actual category and ZIP coverage and track inspection quality separately from Search ads. LSAs are unavailable in Australia and New Zealand.
